Facing Our Challenges

Image
From time to time, do you find yourself overwhelmed, facing challenges in your life? Do you wake in the middle of the night, confused about the future and wishing that when you get out of bed in the morning, all your problems would be gone? The apostle Paul encourages Christians in 2 Timothy 1:7: "For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind." In this verse, Paul shows us that we need not worry and fear because God has given those who have His Spirit the tools we need to face these moments. We can carry these words in our heart and our minds, knowing that God loves us and wants us to succeed. Next time you find yourself overwhelmed, ponder on these comforting words, and know that through God’s guidance, you can face your most overwhelming challenges.

Never Give In!

Image
In a speech on Oct. 29, 1941, in the midst of World War II, Winston Churchill stated, "...this is the lesson: never give in, never give in, never give in, never, never, never, never—in nothing, great or small, large or petty—never give in..." This can be very difficult for us to do, especially when it seems that we constantly face trials. However, Paul encourages us in Romans 5:3-4 with the reason for and benefits of persevering, in spite of trials: "We also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; and perseverance, character; and character, hope." God allows these trials in our lives, not to cause us hardship but to build us up and make us stronger.  Our loving Father has big plans for us to actually be His children in His family. We just have to remember, no matter what, to "never give in"!

WORDS THAT WILL CHANGE YOUR THINKING!

Image
"You only have one life, and if it is not going in the direction you want it to, now is the time to make changes" "Success isn't easy, and that's a good thing - at least in business. If it was easy, everybody would be doing it and your competition would be outrageous!" "Never let your past decisions determine your future outcome" "Our character is not defined in the good times, but in the hard times  " “Don’t Let Yesterday Take Up Too Much Of Today.”  “If You Are Working On Something That You Really Care About, You Don’t Have To Be Pushed. The Vision Pulls You.” – Steve Jobs “You Learn More From Failure Than From Success. Don’t Let It Stop You. Failure Builds Character.”     It doesn't matter who you are, where you come from; the ability to triumph begins with you.  -"Oprah Winfrey" When life knocks you down, try to land on your back. Because if you can look up, you can get up.  -"Les Brown" ...

THE ENEMY OF MANKIND!

Image
Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour” ( 1 Peter 5:8 , New International Version). One primary cause lurks behind the suffering and tragic circumstances that afflict so many people. The Bible reveals that a powerful, intelligent and vastly influential being actively orchestrates the wickedness that dominates our planet. Most of us have heard of him. The Bible most often calls him the devil and Satan.   You may have wondered whether he really exists. After all, to many the devil seems like a fairy-tale character—a grotesque, blood-red creature with horns, a pointed tail and bat’s wings who carries a pitchfork and inhabits an infernal region of ever-burning flames. Because he is typically depicted so fancifully, it isn’t surprising that few take the idea of a devil seriously. Does such a being exist? Where could such a creature have come from? What is his purpose...

Career Preparation

How can young people prepare for successful careers? It takes planning. According to an old expression, "People don't plan to fail; they fail to plan." Think of what you would really enjoy doing as a profession. Take an aptitude test. Is college for you? Would learning a trade or a vocational school be better for you? Once you have discovered your life's goal, "do it with your might" (Ecclesiastes 9:10). Plan for change as well. In the future, you could need retraining since the fund of knowledge increases so quickly. Also consider two other professions on which to fall back should the job market change drastically. Having a career plan will help you avoid drifting aimlessly. A potential employer likes to see steady experience indicated on your resume. Job-hopping, which indicates instability, is not looked on favorably by head hunters.
